The Story!
Saturday May 13th! Well to start out with...we made a lot of changes to the course. The youth course was shortened and the major rock sections were removed to address the concerns of the parents. Afterwords the comments from those that rode the event said it was vastly improved and they also said that they wanted to go out and do it again.
In the PeeWee 10-11 65cc Ethan Jaudas took first. In the 7-9 65cc, Henry Ferreira beat out Wendy S. Jaudas for the win and in the 10-11 80-110cc race Justin Wilk was the winner.
In the Youth Minicycle event Dale Wakefield Jr was the overall winner. In the 14-15 Big Wheel we had Jacobus H. Ferreira taking first in class. In the 12-15 85cc class Ian Pannebakker beat out Larry Cella for the win.
Congratulation kids on a great day of racing.
In the Adult Motorcycle race we again made some major changes to the course removing some of the rock sections. Again the riders raved about the new course which was just over 7.5 miles. The overall winner was ISDE star Wallace Palmer out of Atco, NJ. Second overall went to Kevin Oswald out of Boyertown, PA, In 3rd overall we had Craig Langenbach riding out of Wantage, NJ. In 4th was GNCC racer Justin Tucker from Medway, MA. In the 5th position we had Jeff Stretch from Branchville, NJ and in 6th overall was Scott Samuel out of Medway, MA.
Again, great race and congratulation to our Saturday race winners.
Sunday May 14th! Sunday morning started out cool and overcast. It rained Saturday night and the course was just right for the quad event.
The youth Quads started around 10:00am and ran on a shortened 1+ mile course that was a combination of woods and hills. In the 8-15 90cc Limited Class Sarah Marsh beat out Dylan Kralle after his quad pulled in some water in a puddle, he went on and finished second in class. In the 8-15 90cc Production class Austin Findley got in 14 laps in just under 45 minutes of 14 miles. In second place was Dalton Dernoski who did 12 laps.
Congratulation kids on a great ride.
Again the Quad course was revised and a lot of the rock sections were removed. The entire course was Quad MX wide. We had two water crossings that were both improved from the event two weeks earlier. In the morning race Woman's GNCC start Stephanie Verkade out of Asbury, NJ ran away with the overall, after race leader Timothy McAndrew on a Utility Unlimited Quad experienced mechanical difficulties on the last lap while leading. 2nd overall went to Christopher Peipher from Kulpmont, PA. In 3rd overall was Anthony Deneo out of Little Falls, NJ. In 4th was Hamburg, PA resident George Richards. In 5th overall was George Ellis who made the trip down from Peterbourough, NH and in 6th overall was Michael Ellis out of Milford, NH. It was another great race and riders all raved about the NEW revised course.
Now in the main event we had some really great racing. The overall winner was GNCC star Sean Neidlinger from Flagtown, NJ. In second place overall we had Rob Hertz out of Brookhaven, PA. In 3rd overall was our new Superman award winner Scott Samuel from Medway, MA who also finished 6th overall in the motorcycle event on Saturday. In 4th overall we had Blake Kramer from Schuylkill Haven, PA. The 5th overall position was nabbed by John Cunningham who is from Newville, PA and in the 6th place overall position it was Craig Sullivan out of Hillsborough, NJ. The big star of the weekend was Quadzone.com’s David Bishop, who was loaned a Can-Am two seat Outlander to take pictures on, but ended up pulling in three disabled Quads that were stuck out in the woods.
Again, thanks to all those that made it out Mother’s Day weekend and for those that missed it...hopefully we'll see you on Memorial Day for round 4 of the Atlantic Grand Prtix series.
