September 15th and 6th 2007 Unadilla GNCC
Atlantic Grand Prix #7 New Berlin, NY
A spectacular event put on by Racer Productions.
Great Location, spectacular course, beautiful weather.
WOW Unadilla GNCC proved to be another great race for all AGP races as well as their families.
The location of this event was at the Unadilla Motocross Park in New Berlin NY which is also world famous for it's World Championship Grand Prix Motocross Races with great names like Roger DeCoster and Bob Hanna duked it out for fame in the golden days of motocross. This course also held Trans AMA's and National Motocross races over the years, but that's a whole other story.
Actually the thought of Unadilla brings back fond memory from my youth, but on this weekend it was all about the GNCC and who was going to be top dog at the end of the day.
The course layout was easy to get around on and the start area as well as the Pro pit area were all on the front part of the property making spectating easy for most.
Those that parked on the back section of the course had a little more walking than those up front.
If you were a spectator it was super easy scooting around and those with mountain bikes had it made once again.
Now on the racing action...Saturday was Quads, Sunday was for Bikes and everyone was treated to another Jeff Russell designed GNCC course which was challenging and fun, but again that’s to be expected considering this is Unadilla.
The Unadilla GNCC course consisted of their world infamous Motocross course with trails and fields thrown in to keep it GNCC in style.
Turnout wise...AGP riders were again all over the place.
On the bike side David Knight came out swinging and did what he does best and that is just roost all over the place for a easy overall.
For all those that made the trip, I’d have to say it was all well worth it. For those that missed it well we see you all bag at the final AGP races as well as the New jersey Big Three Show Down.
How AGP scored the event...First to encourage riders to come out and support the GNCC we didn’t think it was right to score both GNCC regulars as well as AGP racers so what we choose to do was to only score AGP racers and make everyone else transparent.
So this is how it works...If there were 3 AGP racers in a class and say rider A got 2nd, Rider B got 6th and rider C got 10th then we at AGP would score rider A with 1st, rider B as 2nd and Rider C as 3rd. As far as points go that is how AGP points will be assigned at both the Mountain Ridge GNCC an Unadilla GNCC.
If anyone has any questions you can email me or feel more than free to call.
